What Is the 45-Day Movement Challenge?

Simple. Powerful. Life-changing.

For 45 consecutive days, you commit to moving your body for a minimum of 45 minutes each day. No excuses, no skipped days — just you showing up for yourself, one day at a time. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your wellness journey, this challenge is designed for every body at every fitness level.

Approved Movement Activities Include:

  • 🚶 Walking — A brisk walk through the neighborhood, a hike in nature, or a mindful stroll. Walking is one of the most underrated forms of medicine.
  • 🧘 Yoga — Flow, stretch, breathe, and restore. Yoga counts — and so does gentle restorative practice.
  • 🏃 Running — Hit the pavement, the trail, or the treadmill. Run at your own pace.
  • 🏋️ Weight Lifting — Resistance training builds strength, boosts metabolism, and supports bone health. Pick up those weights!
  • 🚴 Biking — Whether it's an outdoor ride through your favorite trail or a spin class, cycling is a powerful low-impact cardio option that's easy on the joints.
  • 🏅 Elliptical — A full-body, low-impact workout that's perfect for all fitness levels. The elliptical gets your heart pumping while protecting your knees and hips.
  • Or any combination of the above — mix and match to keep things exciting and sustainable.

Why 45 Days?

Research shows that it takes roughly 21 to 66 days to form a new habit, with the average falling right around 45 days. We chose 45 intentionally — it's long enough to truly rewire your routine, but short enough to feel conquerable. By the end of this challenge, daily movement won't feel like a chore. It will feel like a non-negotiable part of who you are.

And 45 minutes? That's just 3% of your day. You can do this.


The Pure Living Family Philosophy: Movement Is Medicine

Our red hexagon burns bright because we know what movement does to the human body:

This isn't about punishing your body or chasing a number on the scale. This is about falling in love with how it feels to be alive and moving.


The Rules

  1. 45 minutes minimum, every day, for 45 consecutive days.
  2. Choose any approved movement: walking, yoga, running, weight lifting, biking, or the elliptical.
  3. If you miss a day, you start over at Day 1. (We believe in grace — but also in commitment.)
  4. Log your daily movement using the downloadable worksheet below.
  5. Celebrate every single day you show up. Progress, not perfection.

Tips to Set Yourself Up for Success

Schedule it like a meeting. Block your 45 minutes on your calendar at the start of each week. Treat it as non-negotiable.

Find your "why." Write down the real reason you're doing this. More energy for your kids? Better sleep? Managing stress? Keep that reason visible.

Mix it up. Prevent boredom by rotating through different activities. Walk on Mondays, lift on Tuesdays, yoga on Wednesdays, bike on Thursdays, elliptical on Fridays — find your rhythm.

Bring a friend or your family. Accountability is a superpower. Invite someone to do the challenge with you.

Stack habits. Pair your movement with something you enjoy — a podcast, a playlist, or even just the quiet of early morning.

Rest doesn't mean stop. On hard days, a gentle 45-minute walk or easy elliptical session is 100% valid. Honor your body, and keep moving.
