Our Story

Meet Our Board Members

We are a unique nonprofit organization as nearly all of our board members are parents of special needs kids. These parents guide our programs and offerings based on their own experiences. We are dedicated to building a supportive community so no parent has to feel isolated or alone. We’re in this together, and we’d love to have all parents join our movement.

  • Sound Bath Meditation for Special Needs Parents - Date Night!

    May 31 | Sandy, Utah

    Take a break and unwind at our first in-person event - a sound bath meditation designed for special needs parents. Enjoy an evening of deep relaxation and connection with other parents.

    May 31st, from 7-9 pm, at Utah Stem Cells (9035 South & 700 East, Sandy, Utah).

  • Mom’s Retreat at Sundance

    August 2-3 | Sundance, Utah

    Mom’s, join us in the glorious Utah mountains as we take time to connect, learn, and relax. We’ll hike, do yoga, journal, and even nap (what a concept!). We’d love to have along. 

  • Dad's Men's Retreat in Cache Valley

    Sept 13-14 | Cache Valley, Utah

    Dads, escape to Cache Valley! Enjoy a night of camping by the lake under the stars on Friday, then cheer on the Aggies (or the Utes!) at the Utah State vs. Utah game on Saturday. Bond with other dads and create lasting memories.

Our Mission

We support parents raising kids with special needs, who often sacrifice their own health and well-being for their child's care. What we've learned is that neglecting self-care is a mistake, as it can lead to burnout and compromised health for these parents.

Our initiative involves hosting health and wellness conferences and retreats tailored for these parents, aiming to help them regain control of their health. By doing so, they'll have more energy and capacity to support their special needs children. Your donation today can assist us in hosting our inaugural conference in 2024, titled 'Just for Today.'

This event allows parents to dedicate one day solely to themselves, replenishing their own well-being. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for 2024, enabling us to conduct three-day camp retreats for parents of special needs children. The Pure Living Family Foundation is a federally recognized 501-C-3, nonprofit, Tax ID 88-1015327.
